We are already a few weeks into summer and most of us are jet setting off into the sunshine. Most of us have waiting months for sun, sea and the sand between our toes. Myself, it’s been over 5 long years since I stepped on a plane to relax in a tropical climate.
Your skin needs help when absorbing extra vitamin D and what about your flight prep? After a 7 hour flight, I wanted to make sure I looked my best stepping off that plane. Not easy with the lack of sleep, aeroplane air conditioning and an unfortunate lack of water! Lack of water you might ask? Well after being ignored by the cabin crew on the journey out, I made sure I brought my own trusty bottle of water along. I am sure not all airlines are like that, but it does take a toll on your skin.
So my beauty essentials to help you through your flights this summer have been tried and tested. I highly recommend them, as my skin looked the best it ever has after travelling.
Caudalie Beauty Elixer
This is an absolute life saver, it is a refreshing toner primer spray. It helped hydrate my skin during the flight and left my skin smooth and bright. If air conditioning doesn’t agree with you like it doesn’t with me, you need this in your life! My skin is normally incredibly dry and tight under these conditions but this is a miracle worker. It smells delicious too. From Space NK.
This was a last-minute cheeky purchase at Heathrow Duty Free, but it was well worth it. The powder is nice and light and covers your skin flawlessly, without being heavy. It covered imperfections and made me look fresh-faced. The best part is it’s SPF 15. Available at your nearest Chanel counter.
I love Nip & Fab, it works so well on my skin. My favourite product for my cleansing routine is the Dragon Blood pads. They make my skin smoother and adds more plump. These pads are designed to refresh and cleanse with Salicylic & Hyaluronic Acids, but it also has Witch Hazel to reduce imperfections and tighten pores. Perfect for on the go. Available in Boots £9.95
Haeckels Seaweed & Lavender Lip Balm
Moisturised lips are always important and there is nothing more yummy than this lip balm from Haeckels. Packed with vitamins, this natural lip balm is paraffin free and designed for constant use. If you are like me and always applying lip balm, this one is for you. There is nothing worse than dry chapped lips! Available from Selfridges £15
I can’t go anywhere without my Eyeko mascara and brow gel. These are super handy as they are in small tubes, so they’re easy to pack under the current hand luggage regulations. The Brow Gel gives you instantly darker and primed eyebrows, while the mascara conditions and lengthens your lashes. Available from Space NK.
Bastiste Dry Shampoo
You absolutely cannot forget the dry shampoo for your hair. Voted the best dry shampoo, it’s the best I have tried. It makes my hair look freshly washed and does not leave a horrible white residue. I have super fine hair so I need this refreshment after 7 hours flying. Available at Boots
And finally not forgetting my trusty Bottle of Water!
