When friends of mine organised an evening of food and live music at the County Kitchen, little did I know about this gem here in Cheltenham.
At the County Kitchen they believe in high quality food for amazing value. Everything is cooked fresh and from scratch in their kitchen.
The food is seasonally prepared and sourced locally from small independent producers in Gloucestershire.
In addition to wonderful food, their belief is that customers should also have a good time. The friendly and relaxed service allowed our group to be a little rowdy. So apologies to the other diners for our out-of-tune version of Wonderwall!
County Kitchen are very proud to have been awarded “Best Independent Cafe in Gloucestershire in 2015” from The Taste of Gloucestershire Food & Farming Awards. They thoroughly deserve this due to the excellent service and amazing food.
Our table ordered the burgers and I must say, I have never tasted a burger quite like it. They are prepared on site and they melt in your mouth. We were all in awe of them. The burgers came with Bernaise sauce, a tricky sauce to get right and all I can say is YUM!
It was pure bliss.
We didn’t have starters, which we later regretted, especially as we were eyeing up the twice baked cheese soufflé. Next time we definitely will.
Some of us however managed dessert and once again this was a taste explosion of unadulterated heaven. Ki and I shared the caramelised pear and apple frangipani tart.
Frazer Leptord was the wonderful performer entertaining us on Friday 26th February, look out for his live gigs around Cheltenham.
