Favourite Places in Cheltenham

Following my 6th week of the Gratitude Challenge blog post on Cheltenham, I promised to share my favourite places to visit and things to do here.

I will keep it short and brief, to give you readers the opportunity to explore Cheltenham or maybe even suggest places I have to try.

The Wilson Gallery – is Cheltenham’s award winning art gallery and museum, it houses a collection of variety in arts such as, a designated Arts and Crafts Movement collection, a fine art collection, and The Paper Store,  which is home to archives relating to Antarctic explorer Edward A. Wilson, Cheltenham’s history and the Emery Walker Library.the_wilson_master_logo_with_descriptor_grey1_0

I have seen some great exhibitions here such as Audrey Hepburn Portraits of an Icon and Pop Art in Words. IMG_6108

The Everyman Theatre – I have blogged about this magnificent building before, https://ladymckew.blog/2015/01/10/everyman-theatre/

Everyman Theatre is theatre is based in Regent Street, Cheltenham. There are two stages in the building, the 694 seats main stage and the 60 seat Studio Theatre, originally named The Richardson after Ralph Richardson. But it is the beautiful interior that steals the show.

Chapel Arts – New to the scene for me, but a good one. Chapel Arts Cheltenham is an exciting new venue, located in St James’.  It is a former Baptist chapel, lovingly it has been modernised and restored to create a light arts space perfect for exhibiting local artists.

Montpellier Gardens & Pittville Park – These are great parks to chill out in Cheltenham. Pittville will be special to me and Mr N as we had our engagement photos taken there. However, whether you are walking the dogs or taking the children to the swings, both parks have top-notch facilities.

Favourite Place to Brunch – Boston Tea Party, I love their menu and juices. It can be difficult sometimes to find a seat in there but it is worth the wait. BTP is also a great place to set up your laptop and blog. IMG_1951

Best Coffee in Cheltenham – If you know me, you know what I am going to say, yep you guessed it The Scandinavian Coffee Pod. I become their 1000 follower on Twitter, earning a free coffee, since then they have taught me about proper coffee and I have enjoyed their cupping events.

Best Steak – Okay, Okay I am not being biased here but honestly the best steak in Cheltenham can be found at The Ox. I won’t say more, you will just have to visit to see for yourself.

Favourite Restaurant  –  Difficult one because I have a love for two restaurants Mayflower & Bhoomi, hands down my favourite restaurants in Cheltenham. Bhoomi, again another place I have blogged (Check it out) but you have to try it. If you love Indian food but proper Indian food then get yourself here.

Mayflower has always welcomed me and my family with their warm hospitality and delicious Chinese cuisine. I will now not go anywhere else but here.

My Retro Hideout – For all my love of vintage, there is only one place to go Smokey Joes. Everywhere you look there is vintage memorabilia along with some classic tunes from back in the day, you are transported back in time with some delicious milkshakes. IMG_1717
