Week 34 – Gratitude Challenge – My Neighbourhood

This week, I am sharing with you where I live and although I have already talked about Cheltenham, I live right on the edge of the town centre in an area called Fairview.

If I am honest, I did not think there was much to share about it and scoffed when someone said it was an area of boutique businesses. As you drive through you would probably wonder too what places but there are a small few that are worth shouting about and ones I took for granted.

Bumblebeez – Cheltenham’s favourite florist home, is literally around the corner from my house. They have been fantastic when we have to say thank you to people who helped us, or when we have needed to cheer someone up. Anniversary flowers or just to brighten up our home.

Number Eighty-Five – A gorgeous little independent coffee shop with a warming welcome. I even treated myself to one of their mama’s recipe Prosecco Christmas pudding.

Favourite Beers – it has been a while since I have visited this superb treasure trove of beers and ciders, but we are not talking Strongbow or Budweiser, we are talking about specialist UK beers and ciders. They are forever changing, but for that extra special tipple, this is the place to go.

Scene It – This a quirky little shop with a bit of everything for the home. Sometimes, it is hard to walk past without picking up a small little bargain. Full of vintage pieces this is dangerous for me being just around the corner. Tala and her husband are lovely and so helpful. Especially, when I was pregnant – my lovely friend came to visit me and we spotted a vintage rocking horse and she purchased it for baby T’s nursery, after painting it again ready for her room it now sits proudly waiting to be used (although her cousin has hours of fun on it currently) but there have been other pieces I have acquired and upcycled.fullsizeoutput_6a5

Once we were the home of the Banksy, but unfortunately, someone felt the need to vandalise this. Despite it trying to be saved, it was eventually removed from the side of the once dilapidated house on the corner. The owner has now renovated the house for sale. IMG_5454

After living right in the centre of town, this is a lovely quiet area at the edge of Cheltenham town centre, making it not far for us to stumble in. We have gorgeous views of Cleeve hills and in the summer we are able to watch the cricket on the lawn. It is certainly somewhere that we appreciated moving too.
