I admit this is not a homemade recipe but I absolutely could not have this solution in my cupboard.
It is something my grandparents always used to use, I remember the smell as a little girl. It smelt of their kitchen sink. Sounding a bit weird? Trust me, this stuff amazing even if you find the smell off-putting.
We are currently renting our little cottage and the kitchen is quite old, I was related when the landlords told us a few weeks ago that they were thinking of redoing the kitchen. I have never been so excited! New cupboards, a cooker and sink are needed, not to mention more surface space. I admit I do find it incredibly difficult to keep it ship-shape with all of our gadgets taking up space and little cupboard space.
The most recent thing to go was the plugs and taps with sink, it is pretty old but even so, I have been maintaining it the best I can. I do not think I could have done it without Shiny Sinks by The Brite Family.
I had to let my sink get grubby to show you how well this product works.
What you need:
- Rubber Gloves
- Sponge
- An old toothbrush or a scrubbing-brush
- Shiny Sinks
- Kitchen Roll
How long does it take?
Five Minutes – not even that depending on how bad your shiny surfaces are
How to:
- Apply the solution to the area
- Scrub the area with the toothbrush or sponge in circular motions.
- Leave for 1 minute (less it requires more)
- Scrub again making sure all the brown marks or stains have vanished
- Rinse with water
- Dry with the kitchen roll
Voila!
Shiny shiny Sinks!
This can be used on Sinks, basins and taps for everyday cleaning. Helping to stop limescale and staining.
Give it a go, it is great at removing soap scum from the bathtub too. I love to hear about your favourite products you use.
WARNING: DO NOT USE SHINY SINKS ON GOLD, PEWTER, SILVER, ENAMEL OR LACQUERED SURFACES
